A true passion for art can transform the ordinary into something beautiful. This is exactly how Simon Timbers creates his incredible images. Vivid colors, striking geometry, the spirit of the metropolis and long-distance travel – all this is in the works of the American photographer.
“Your shots show that the Earth is still a beautiful planet,” one subscriber comments on the work of Simon Timbers, a California-based photographer. “It is flourishing because people are now destroying it less,” the photographer replies.
Like the rest of us, Simon is now in self-isolation. It is recognized that it is difficult, but if we want to continue to photograph and enjoy the world around us, we must be at home, processing previous photographs.
The guy has been taking photography since he was 14. Perhaps it was this “lady” who became his first love. “Skill has a price, passion is priceless,” – this is how Simon signed one of the photos. If you go to his “Instagram” and scroll to the end, you can see the first picture, posted in 2012 – it shows a smoky kitten in his hand – nothing special, there are a lot of such “pictures” in every phone. “My first photo shows how I have changed. You can start anywhere. I’m still not that good, but definitely better than this job, “- such an ironic commentary wrote Simon to the picture three years later, in 2015. And then progress, similar to the serpentine depicted in Simon’s works, is steep, impetuous, offering views of the best sunset.
Timbers are fascinated by roads, bridges and crazy traffic. The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is his favorite. Simon shoots it from all possible angles and in different weather: the recognizable red shrouds at sunset and in the fog are impressive. Occasionally, however, you can see a cute white swan swinging in the waters in Hallstatt or a puppy with different colored eyes in the profile.
“Dreams won’t work until you work,” Simon says categorically.
