The San Francisco Gate reported that Alicia Keys will be the host of music’s biggest awards ceremony. Alicia almost always goes to the Grammys and has so since the beginning of her career in music, but she’s never actually hosted before. On Tuesday, the Recording Academy announced the news that Alicia can now add the accolade to her long list of musical accomplishments.

They revealed that the longtime R & B legend would be hosting the show on the 10th of February for the very first time. And the Grammys will air on CBS from the Staples Center in LA. Thus far, Alicia has actually won 15 Grammys – a huge feat.

In a statement, Alicia explained she was incredibly excited to reveal she would be the “master of ceremonies” on the biggest night of the year in music. She described the night as one of “creativity, power, and magic,” before concluding the statement with one last line.

Furthermore, the singer said she was incredibly excited to shout out to all of the women nominated. Thus far, Kendrick Lamar and Drake are the biggest Grammy Award contenders, each star having eight and seven nominations respectively.

Other stars up for serious awards include Brandi Carlile, Lady Gaga, Maren Morris, Cardi B, and H.E.R. Alicia Keys is a great choice for the ceremony, due to her long-lasting success in the industry, as well as her experience with the ceremonies in general.

Not only has she seen a lot of success in music, but also in films, including the cult classic starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeremy Piven, Smokin’ Aces. In the movie, Alicia plays an attractive gay woman hired – among other assassins – to take down Jeremy Piven’s character.

Since her very first record in 2001, Alicia Keys has released six studio LPs in total, including 2016’s Here, 2012’s Girl On Fire, 2009’s The Element Of Freedom, 2007’s As I Am, 2003’s The Diary Of Alicia Keys, and 2001’s Songs In A Minor.

Some of her most iconic tracks include “Fallin,” “Girl On Fire,” and “Noone.” In 2008, Alicia and Jack White, formerly from The White Stripes, collaborated in the title track for the James Bond flick,Quantum Of Solace, starring Daniel Craig.
