- Katy Perry was asked about her thoughts on Meghan Markle‘s Givenchy wedding dress during an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” on Sunday.
- Perry said that although she loves Markle, she thought the dress could have be more fitted.
- “I would have done one more fitting,” Perry said. “I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.”
- Perry added that she she liked Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress more than Markle’s.
Katy Perry wasn’t in attendance at the royal wedding, but she’s sharing her opinion on Meghan Markle‘s Givenchy gown.
While all eyes were on Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, Perry was in Los Angeles, California preparing for the two-part “American Idol” season finale. Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” the “AI” judge was asked about what she thought of Markle’s gown. Perry said that although she adores Markle, she thought the wedding gown could have been more fitted to Markle’s frame.
“I would have done one more fitting,” Perry said. “I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.”
Perry went on to say that she likes Markle’s stance as “a proud feminist,” in addition to “her humanitarian efforts.”
She also added that she liked Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen dress from her 2011 wedding more than Markle’s.
“Kate, Kate, Kate won, Kate won,” she said.
Markle’s Givenchy dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller and featured stunning details, from three-quarter sleeves to a beateau neckline. She also wore a 16-foot long veilthat included embroidered flowers that represented the 53 countries in Britain’s Commonwealth and a California Poppy that symbolized her home state.
For the wedding reception, Markle wore a white Stella McCartney gown with a halter-style neckline.
