Disney has revealed a whole heap of information about its upcoming streaming service and honestly, it is sounding pretty must-have to us right now.
The advent of streaming services has greatly changed the way in which we consume content. From TV, movies, and music, we have pretty much everything we could ever want to listen to and watch at our fingertips. Services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Spotify really have the market cornered.
Honestly, especially when it comes to streaming TV shows and movies, you would think that Netflix and Amazon pretty much have everything covered between them. Well, not if you ask Disney. The media giant has clearly spotted a gap in the market and plans on plugging later this year with its very own streaming service, Disney+. Here is everything we have been told about Disney+ so far.
First of all, the price. Disney has revealed that not only will it be cheaper than Netflix, but considerably less than its biggest rivals. Just $6.99 a month, or $70 for an annual subscription. But what are you paying that low-low price for? Well, turns out an awful lot. For starters, since Disney are now the proud owners of Fox, every single episode of The Simpsons will be available on launch. Honestly, is that not worth $6.99 a month all on its own?
Moving on, an answer as to why Netflix’s Marvel series have been gradually disappearing. It turns out Disney has big plans for that genre. There will be a number of TV shows on Disney+ that link directly to what we see on the big screen. Loki will be getting his own show, as will Vision and Scarlet Witch. Plus, don’t forget Star Wars which will also be heavily featured on the streaming platform.
So what can we stream it on and when will it be available? The planned release date in the US is November 12, 2019, and Disney plans on the service being available in all major regions within the next two years. If you have an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, or by the sounds of it, basically anything you can stream content on, Disney+ will be available to you.
