If you’re searching for your next new show to binge on Netflix, don’t worry, the zodiac has your back. Based on the defining qualities for your zodiac sign, there are reasons you might prefer a certain genre or type of show over another. And since Netflix has a wealth of interesting and entertaining shows, it’s impossible to not find something that totally grabs your attention. If you want a cool new show to add to your Netflix stream, and that you know you’ll likely love, try these out, all recommended by Joshua MacGuire (“Joshua the Psychic”), a psychic, astrologer, and life coach in West Hollywood, USA.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Russian Doll
“It’s scrupulous and stunning in its psychological explorations, which is perfect for analytical Aquarians who are students of human nature,” MacGuire told us. Aquarians are deep thinkers interested in the construction of the universe and human connection, which this show explores. Those with this sign will also likely enjoy how the show identifies patterned behaviour and the reasons and ramifications for these patterns.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): Black Mirror
“Pisces will love the suspenseful, satirical stories that explore the collective unease about society, especially in light of technology,” he said. Pisces are linked up to collective consciousness, and sometimes live in a dream-like state. “Pisces will love [immersing] themselves in the emotions explored in Black Mirror and how society plays a part in everyday happiness, sadness, and every other emotion in between.”
Aries (March 21-April 19): The Umbrella Academy
Aries were born having to fight, and in some respects, fend for themselves — much like the children in the series, who were inexplicably born to unexpecting mothers in 1989 and adopted by a billionaire who prepares them to save the world. “Aries are strong people who got strong because they had no other choice, particularly in childhood,” said MacGuire. “The Umbrella Academy sheds light on childhood trauma and healing, which is a lifelong journey for Aries.”
Taurus (April 21-May 21): The Crown
Those with this sign may like learning about fellow Taurus Queen Elizabeth II. “The show explores relationships in a ‘work’ environment, which Tauruses are naturally great at,” he said. Plus, The Crown explores how custom and tradition can act as a straightjacket, and in actuality, may not be practical. Tauruses are loyal to others and traditions, so The Crown may shed light on how such adherence can be disadvantageous at times.
Gemini (May 21-June 21): The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Taking place in the same universe as Riverdale, the show’s exciting themes and character arcs are universal, and will grip Gemini right from the start. “Gemini is a dualistic sign; they are constantly making choices, right or wrong, high road vs. low,” he said. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina shows some contradictory impulses that the twins of the zodiac wrangle with on a day-to-day basis, and it’s anything but boring.
Cancer (June 22-July 22): One Day at a Time
“Cancers, who deeply understand the importance of caring, will appreciate the show’s point: that loved ones make life OK even when it isn’t,” MacGuire said. “The show also provides commentary on maintaining familial relations even when there’s disagreements.” Family-oriented Cancers will appreciate the show’s statement that fighting is OK, but that setting aside differences to be there for one another is what really matters.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Sex Education
“The show about teens coming to terms with their hormones and bodies will interest lusty Leos, who are in a lot of ways are like lusty adolescents when they let their hair down,” he said. They’re likely to find the themes of Sex Education to be fascinating and hysterical.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Tidying Up
Virgos, the organisational, clean freaks of the zodiac, will love Tidying Up, in which organisational expert Marie Kondo helps her clients cut the clutter and make room for joy in a series of home makeovers. “Virgos are prudent people who usually don’t keep anything around that doesn’t serve any practical purpose,” MacGuire told us. “The tips alone are sure to excite Virgo and the emotional wins Kondo’s clients get when they release what’s no longer relevant will justify their fastidious nature.”
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) : Dear White People
Dear White People is a refreshing exploration of race relations at a fictional Ivy League university. “Libras will love how the show tips the scales with its perspective on social justice,” MacGuire said. Libras are great at balancing others. “The show lends a voice to the cultural conversation about race relations in a way that hasn’t been done before, which fair Libra will love,” he said.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You
You, actually starring Scorpio Penn Badgley, asks the question of how far you’d go for love. “Scorpios will likely empathise with Joe,” said MacGuire. “He may be obsessed, he may be extreme and even dangerous, but it’s coming from a place of love. Love is like a drug more addictive than cocaine — Scorpios know this.” More than any other sign, Scorpios are in touch with their carnal impulses.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Narcos
Sagittariuses are very philosophical and are big-picture thinkers. “Narcos explores the myths that are sold by powerful people and bought into by society,” MacGuire said. “Sagittariuses will like the breakneck pacing of this drug-cartel drama, focusing on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who made billions via the production and distribution of cocaine.”
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Ozark
Capricorns will love following financial adviser and fellow Capricorn Jason Bateman, who also directs and produces Ozark. “The show teaches some very pointed lessons about finances, and will make any watcher a more shrewd and careful business person,” he said. “Capricorn is the one of the most ambitious signs (second perhaps only to Scorpio), and Ozark explores that fine line between being ambitious and unethical, a line that ambitious Capricorns might entertain toeing.”
