Prince William – How Rich is the Future King?

Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine recently welcomed their third child, a boy named Louis, to the world. This new arrival moved Prince Harry from fifth in line for the throne to sixth. No doubt, Will is preparing for the marriage of his younger brother to American Meghan Markle on Saturday, but we’re wondering how his net worth stacks up to the rest of the royal family. Will, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis definitely live a lavish life befitting of the future King of England.

Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is the eldest son of Prince Charles and Diana. He was born on June 21, 1981. He was the first child born to a Prince and Princess of Wales since Prince John in 1905. William was affectionately called Wombat by his parents. He went to college at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where he met his future wife. In December 2006, he finished 44 weeks of training as an officer cadet and was commissioned in the Blues and Royals regiment. In April 2008, he completed pilot training and then took helicopter pilot training. In early 2009 he became a full time pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force. He served in the British Armed Forces until September 2013.

Will married his college sweetheart, Kate Middleton, on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey. Upon his marriage he was made the Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Stratheam, and Barron Carrickfergus. The couple have three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The couple and their children live at Kensington Palace.

As the second in line to the throne of England, Will has lived a pretty straight and rule abiding life. No naked pictures of him in Las Vegas ever surfaced, unlike his more relaxed, fun loving brother.

While Will was working as an air ambulance pilot, he made $60,000 a year. He gave up his pilot job in July 2017.

In 2012, when Will turned 30, he inherited half of his late mother’s estate. That came out to roughly $17 million, the same amount Harry inherited when he turned 30.

The biggest part of Will’s income and net worth comes from the Duchy of Cornwall. The Duchy was created in 1337 and its purpose is to provide income to the sons of the monarchy. Prince Charles is currently running the Duchy. We don’t have an exact figure for how much Will receives but estimate that he receives roughly $26.4 million a year from it.

Like Harry, all of Will’s living expenses, travel, staff, and wardrobe are covered by the Duchy.

Once Prince Charles is King, Will stands to become a whole lot richer overnight. The Duchy passes down to the eldest son when their parent becomes King (or Queen). Will would immediately become $20 million richer.

Will’s kids are also income generators. By the time Princess Charlotte was one, she had a net worth of $4.6 million. Prince George’s net worth at the same age was about $3 million.

Prince William has a net worth of $40 million.
