Lukasz Palka is a Polish street photographer. With his works, Lukash confesses his love for the chaos of Tokyo and, with the help of details, explains to the viewer why this city is special for him.
His work is varied, but all serve the same purpose: to compose a personal portrait of the great city. Tokyo has fascinated Lukasz since he came here ten years ago. He is often asked what he likes best in Japan or Tokyo, but this adoration cannot be explained by just one aspect. The city breathes like a living organism, energy flows like blood in it, while people and transport sway through its arteries, as if moved by a beating heart. It is impossible not to be intoxicated by this environment of light and concrete, the stage for the dramas of life. The only way for Lukasz to understand and convey all this is through photography.
“I was born in Poland, raised in the USA and have lived in Japan since 2008, I am an urban photographer who is interested in all aspects of the Tokyo metropolis; its people, its infrastructure and endless stories that unfold on the streets of the city, ”says the photographer.
